Insulated Framing Panel
Our most familiar framing option: wood on both faces, an insulated core, and screw connections to a conventional bottom plate and double top plate.
- Pocket-hole screws connect the panels to the specified wood plates.
- In most circumstances, IFP requires OSB sheathing. The project’s bracing and engineering determine the exact schedule.
Plate sizes, fasteners, hold-downs and load paths follow the approved project documents. The model is illustrative.

Panel configuration
IHP Wood / Wood
A hybrid panel with wood fastening faces inside and outside. Steel top and bottom tracks support the panel connections, with the specified wood top plate above.
- Metal tracks add a different base and connection detail—not a substitute for moisture detailing.
- Some engineered IHP applications omit continuous OSB; designated shear panels or other bracing may still be required.

Panel configuration
IHP Wood / Metal
A hybrid panel with steel on the exterior face and wood on the interior. Steel top and bottom tracks work with the specified wood top plate.
- Exterior steel changes how exterior finishes attach; interior wood remains familiar to the trades.
- OSB and shear-panel requirements depend on the project. Do not omit sheathing or bracing without the approved design.
